We would like to introduce Natasha, the newest member of The Orange Partnerships growing team. Natasha joins as a Senior Consultant and brings with her over 15 years’ audit experience.
Here is an insight into Natasha, including what attracted her to TOP, who she admires, as well as which football team she supports (a very important part of being a member of the team).
Q: How do you see your audit skills from 9 years at Audit Bureau of Circulations Ltd, being transferable to auditing major open book contracts?
A: I’ve worked with many different Companies and individuals during my career as an Auditor. This has enabled me to develop business acumen and many transferable audit skills. These include auditing to International Audit Standards & Industry-specific Standards/Frameworks, effective communication, critical thinking, a risk-based approach, analytical skills and the ability to carry out root-cause analysis.
Q: As the newest member of TOP what attracted you to this position and the company?
A: The key parts that attracted me are the fact that TOP are Industry experts, collaborative working and I get the opportunity to work on major construction projects. It was totally clear throughout the interview process that TOP have a great work-ethic and are committed to developing their people. I’ve experienced that already, with a comprehensive induction programme including one to one training sessions with the Directors on the TOP methodologies, clients and contract arrangements. The fact that they will support me completing my Institute of Internal Auditors qualification is a massive plus too.
Q: What made you choose a career in finance and accounting?
A: Almost everyone in my family loves maths and/or statistics, so it’s a given that I would enjoy working with numbers. I chose a career in Audit because of the opportunity to use analytical and investigative skills to have a purposeful impact on a business. Working in Audit means you often get to work with many different people across different areas of a business, learn something new every day and I also like asking “how” and “why” questions.
Q: Who do you admire professionally speaking?
A: The person I admire professionally is Karen Brady CBE (even though she was MD of Birmingham City FC and I’m a Villa fan!). She has represented women in the Boardroom since the age of 23 and been a member of the House of Lords since 2014, when she was just 45. She champions women in business and investment in young people, with a pragmatic and strategic approach. She talks a lot of sense and I agree with a lot of her opinions.
Q: Football seems to play an important role with several key people at TOP … does this resonate with you and if so, what team do you support?
A: Yes, I ‘m an Aston Villa supporter. I can see there may be lots of discussions on team meetings after weekend fixtures!
